Every turn, in one card.

See what Claude changed and whether the tests passed.
Read the one line to check before you trust it.
Every raw line stays one click away.

A mod for Claude Code. No network. No processes. MIT.

Your files. Your tests. Your checks. One card.

Install

Install from the marketplace

One line in a Claude Code terminal session. The card works in fullscreen and in the main screen.

/plugin install tldr --marketplace kushalBanda/claude-tldr

Needs Claude Code 2.1.301 or later. Before you install, you can run claude plugin validate on a clone: it lists every event and API the mod uses.

What it does

  • Turn card

One card per turn in place of the tool rows: goal, time, files, test runs in order, other commands and what Claude read. The final reply stays.

  • Trust flags

The card turns amber and says what to check: a test file edited in the turn that made tests pass, writes outside the project, deletes, skip markers, --no-verify, force pushes.

  • Click to reveal

Click a row and a pane shows what is behind it. Click the goal for the turn as steps. Escape closes it. Every raw line stays one click away.

  • Reads your tests

Test runs read red to green, in order. Wrappers like npm test, make test and tox resolve to the runner they start.

  • Context bar

One line above the prompt: conversation in blue, setup in gray. The conversation turns amber at 60% and red at 80%, pointing to /compact.

  • Mode-aware spinner

Thinking, running tools or writing, with the current job: Reading src/auth.py. It moves during /compact too.

  • Kept cards

Finished cards survive /compact and resume, up to 50 per session. /tldr history lists them.

  • Copy and diff

Copy the reply as clean text, with no trailing spaces or shared indentation, or print the net diff of the turn per file.

  • Local only

It reads the turn statically. No network calls, no processes. TypeScript, no dependencies, MIT.

Reads your test runner

How tests are read
  • pytest
  • unittest
  • jest
  • vitest
  • Playwright
  • go test
  • gotestsum
  • cargo test
  • nextest
  • bun test
  • deno test
  • npm test · pnpm test · yarn test · make test · just test · toxWrappers, read through the runner they start

Know how full the window is.

One line above the prompt. It uses Claude Code's own local estimate, so no request is sent.

Type 7 or run /tldr context for the setup rows.

62% full · conversation 94k · setup 30k · /compact

>

  • Conversation

What you and Claude said, and the tool results. /compact frees it.

  • Setup

System prompt, tools, memory, skills. Every request loads it.

  • Amber at 60%

The conversation and the percent turn amber when the window is 60% full.

  • Red at 80%

It turns red and points to /compact. You decide when to compact.

Two layouts

Terminal only · desktop and VS Code draw their own rows

Fullscreen: the card takes clicks.

The card replaces the tool rows. Click a row to open its pane. Escape closes it.

Main screen: rows become keys.

Printed rows can't take a click, so the band above the prompt holds them as digits. Type one into the empty prompt.

TL;DR

>

  • /tldr

    Help.

Install command

/plugin install tldr --marketplace kushalBanda/claude-tldr

TL;DR is an MIT project by Kushal Banda. It is not affiliated with Anthropic.
